Partnering with Microsoft Unified Communications Engineering

Find out more about partnering with Microsoft on Unified Communications (UC) Devices, Mobile Solutions, Infrastructure Engineering, or Federated Services. Independent software vendors (ISVs) can also find material to help drive integration with Microsoft products.

Prior to applying to Be a UC Partner (Prerequisites)

Prior to requesting to become a certified partner, the following is required:

  • A long term interest in developing product lines for Microsoft’s UC platform
  • A proven record of developing and marketing enterprise grade systems.
  • Established global enterprise sales channels.

Steps to complete prior to making a request to be a Microsoft UC Partner:

  1. Obtain Microsoft Global Partner Program membership. Registration is simple and starts here. Join at a level that aligns with your business strategies.
  2. Depending on the Partner Program that you qualify for, obtaining TSANet membership for enterprise technical support at the “standard” or “quid-pro-quo” support level may be required. Find out more about becoming a TSANet member here.
  3. Enroll in the Metro Early Adopters program if you don’t already have an MS Connect invitation ID. If you already have an invitation ID, log into MS Connect and get started immediately (before contacting the Metro Early Adopters program).
  4. Establish a Windows Live account to access Microsoft Connect directories.

Device Developers

Device developers can partner with the UC Partner Engineering team to deliver the next generation of Office Communication Server clients. Begin by downloading the Starter Kit.

Downloading the Starter Kit requires access to Microsoft Connect. If the UC Partner Engineering team invited you to join Microsoft Connect, ensure that you have your invitation ID ready. An invitation ID will simplify registration and direct you immediately to the materials which you were invited to view. The Microsoft Connect home page can be found here.
