Microsoft Operations Manager Service Pack 1 (SP1) from Microsoft shows our commitment to making Windows® the best-managed platform available. SP1 extends the functionality of Microsoft Operations Manager in several ways. You can, for example:
Install and use Microsoft Operations Manager components on non-English-language-based operating systems, as well as manage servers on those operating systems.
Benefit from new management packs for the Microsoft .NET Framework, Network Load Balancing, and Windows server clusters.
Extend Microsoft Operations Manager functionality and readily integrate it with other management systems using SP1 together with the new software development kit (SDK2).
SP1 also includes fixes and improvements that will benefit existing installations of Microsoft Operations Manager, such as:
Performance and scalability enhancements. Use Microsoft Operations Manager to monitor twice as many servers as before—managing large IT environments is now easier and more cost-effective.
Clustered Microsoft Operations Manager database support. The Microsoft Operations Manager database can be clustered and made fully resilient using Windows server clusters, improving the already mission-critical availability of the system.
Improved scripting support. Using Microsoft Visual Studio® .NET, scripts may now be debugged inside or outside of the Microsoft Operations Manager environment. In addition, the maximum script size has also been increased.
Product and documentation fixes. Many customer-requested fixes have also been made to both the product and the documentation.
