Updates for Project Server 2010

Software updates are a subset of an upgrade, so the software update deployment cycle that is used for upgrading SharePoint 2010 farms and servers also applies to deploying software updates for Project Server 2010. See Software updates overview in the technical library for more information.

We recommend that you use the update cycle that is shown in the following illustration as a guide to deploy the latest software updates.

Latest Software Updates

Software updates include any update, update rollup, service pack, feature pack, critical update, security update, or hotfix. See KB 824684 for a description of the standard terminology that is used to describe Microsoft software updates. See KB 953878 for information about cumulative updates that are available from the Microsoft Office team to fix reported problems.
