About This Video
The desktop, or operating system, is the primary target of development projects. The reason is largely due to the services that desktop provides to a developer like access to output devices, common interface controls, networking services, multimedia capabilities, much more. The desktop provides a standard environment, allowing a developer to focus on the requirements of their application. Microsoft provides two paths for writing code on the Windows desktop: native and managed. Each has their strengths and benefits but both provide a rich toolset for developing desktop client applications.
