Introduction to DB Design
About This Video:
This video presents the fundamental concepts for relational tables and using the normalization design process to minimize structural problems with the tables you design in relational databases.
The presentation first covers the fundamental concepts of tables including columns, rows, domains and the categories of table keys (candidate, primary, and foreign keys). The presentation then introduces the normalization design process, and walks you through an exercise showing how the normalization rules are applied for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th normal forms.
