High Availability Solutions in SQL 2012
Availability is one of the most important if not the most important job for the database administrator. A lot of applications of your company are dependent on the databases. You might get into a really critical situation when your databases or SQL Server is down. This can result in missing critical deadlines, losing business and potentially damaging your business reputation. However, choosing the right options isn’t always easy because there are a lot of different options and each is designed for a different purpose. In this session, I’m going to explain the High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts. After that, the technologies (AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Database mirroring, Log shipping and replication) will be explained and demos will be provided.
