Join John Baker, Sr. IT Evangelist at Microsoft, and Rhonda Layfield, Sr. Deployment Architect at Deployment Done Right as they discuss Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and compare it with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) by looking at real-world cases that Rhonda has been working on.
|For almost 30 years, Rhonda Layfield has helped people securely deploy, protect, and streamline their IT resources. She began her career in the US Navy where she spent 7 years as communications specialist with a top secret clearance. Later as Sr. Security Analyst for an electrical utility company operating nuclear power plants she discovered serious security flaws in software about to be acquired. She also consults for large customers showing how to quickly and cheaply roll out 50,000 Windows 7 desktops.|
|John started in computers many moons ago working on mainframes, some of which were water cooled. He quickly moved to mini-computers and then joined the PC revolution in the ‘80s. He’s been with Microsoft over 12 years, starting in consulting and moving onto various technology specialist roles. He specializes in Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Group Policy and System Center Configuration Manager 2007. In the last 8 years John has presented hundreds of TechNet events and many product launches. He is currently an IT Pro Evangelist based in Microsoft’s East Region focused on Windows Deployment, covering Maine to Florida. As an IT Pro, John loves how new products and technologies are always lurking around the corner. All this new technology presents a major learning challenge, which is why he recently updated his MCSE certification to the new MCITP Server Administrator and MCITP Enterprise Administrator certifications.|
