Microsoft Virtual Academy: Competitive Advantages of System Center 2012 SP1 over the VMware Private Cloud - Part 6 - Foundation, Hybrid & Costs
In this module, you will learn about the competitive advantages of the Microsoft Private Cloud over the VMware vCloud technologies. Firstly, we’ll take a quick look at the key components and products that make up the private cloud offerings from both Microsoft and VMware, including information on how these technologies are licensed. We’ll then break down our comparison focus into 4 key areas, starting with a deep application focus, comparing the technologies that enable you to better deploy, manage and protect key application, services and workloads. We’ll look at how the different vendors approach heterogeneous infrastructures, and also recap what we learnt in the first module, highlighting why Hyper-V is a strong foundation for the private cloud. We’ll wrap up with a look at the different vendors’ approaches to hybrid IT infrastructures, and finish the session with a look at some of the costs associated with these technologies.
