I first met with Eron Kelly at TechEd in Berlin last November, where he had just announced Office 365 and the private beta.

He came by th eEdge stage today to give me an update - over 100,000 customers in the private beta, and the open beta now taking applicants. Things are going well - he shared a customer story about how Office 365 is enabling businesses, particularly small and midsized ones, to do things that they just wouldn't have the capability to rapidly do.

Eron gave me an update on the outages in BPOS last week, and what it means and how we responded to it.
