Microsoft IT Uses File Classification Infrastructure to Help Secure Personally Identifiable Information
Learn how Microsoft Information Technology (IT) used File Classification Infrastructure (FCI) to create a solution to automatically classify, manage, and protect sensitive data, including personally identifiable information and financial information. Using the new FCI-based solution, Microsoft IT can obtain file-level details about content sensitivity while reducing misclassification of personally identifiable information from 30% to 3%. The new solution enables risk mitigation for sensitive data by using automatically applied controls. Ultimately, this solution helped Microsoft IT achieve industry best practices for regulatory compliance. Published Date: June 21, 2011 Presented By: Microsoft IT Showcase
