In this demonstration, we will cover the UCE control features that limit spam at the Exchange Server 2003 before Intelligent Message Filter processes mail. We will learn what steps to take to prepare your enterprise for Intelligent Message Filter. We will learn where to install IMF components and the installation process.

Demo: Enabling and Configuring IMF

In this demonstration, we will cover how to enable Intelligent Message Filter. We will cover the threshold settings and the different possible actions to take on filtered messages. We will cover cross forest authentication, to assure that the Spam Confidence Level is transmitted from one forest to another. We will configure the Outlook 2003 client and the Outlook Web client to use Intelligent Message Filter.

Demo: Administering IMF

In this demonstration, we will modify the registry to customize Intelligent Message Filter. We will set IMF to move the archive location, store the Spam Confidence Level rating with archived messages, and set the size of a user's rules.

In this demonstration, we will use event viewer to monitor filtered messages.  We will send legitimate and illegitimate messages and track them.  We will use Performance Monitor to gauge the effectiveness of Intelligent Message Filter.
