Manually configure the replication authentication method

To manually configure the replication authentication method

  1. Open ADAM ADSI Edit.

  2. Connect and bind to the ADAM instance in the configuration set that you want to configure.

  3. In the console tree, double-click the configuration directory partition.

  4. In the console tree, right-click the configuration directory partition, and then click Properties.

  5. In Attributes, click msDS-ReplAuthenticationMode, click Edit, and then do one of the following:

    • To force the use of service accounts for replication authentication between configuration set members, type 1 in the Value box, and then click OK.

    • To allow ADAM to automatically determine how replication authentication occurs between configuration set members, type 0 in the Value box, and then click OK.

  • To open the ADAM ADSI Edit snap-in, click Start, point to All Programs, point to ADAM, and then click ADAM ADSI Edit.
