Other services for the corporate network

For this scenario, the DHCP service is used for automatic configuration of IP addresses and other information on client computers. Because DHCP is used, the DHCP Relay Agent must be configured on the servers running Routing and Remote Access acting as Routers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7. When the DHCP Relay Agent is used, client computers on Networks A, B, D, and G can acquire addresses from the DHCP server on the backbone. For information about setting up a DHCP server, see DHCP Overview.

Notes

  • You do not need to use the DHCP Relay Agent on your router if you have a DHCP server on each network.
