Columna XML ProductModel.Instructions

La columna Instructions de la tabla ProductModel almacena instrucciones de fabricación como documentos XML. Estos documentos se crearon con Microsoft Word .NET.

Cada documento XML contiene las instrucciones completas para fabricar un modelo de producto específico. Sin embargo, cada modelo de producto puede contener varios productos. Por ejemplo, Road 450 es un modelo de producto de bicicletas. Hay varias bicicletas en este modelo de producto, como Road 450 Red 25 y Road 450 Green 48. La principal diferencia entre las bicicletas de un modelo de producto es su color y tamaño.

Por ejemplo, HH Mountain Frame, LL Mountain Frame y ML Mountain Frame son productos específicos con identificadores únicos, pero todos son tipos de cuadros del modelo de producto de cuadros de bicicletas de montaña.

La columna ProductID de la tabla Product identifica cada producto. La columna ProductModelID de Product identifica el modelo de producto al que pertenece el producto.

En el proceso de fabricación un producto se lleva de un centro de trabajo a otro, y el documento XML describe los pasos de fabricación en cada uno de ellos. Para describir los pasos de fabricación, las herramientas, los materiales, los planos y los diagramas, todos se incluyen dentro de etiquetas XML. Por tanto, se pueden consultar las etiquetas. Por ejemplo, se puede utilizar XQuery para buscar todas las herramientas utilizadas para fabricar una bicicleta de montaña.
