Configure Default Delegation Settings for a Site or an Application (IIS 7)

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

You can delegate configuration of features in sites or applications when you want users to be able to configure features in the sites on your Web server or to configure features in the applications in a site. When you configure default delegation at a parent level, such as at the site level, you also affect all children in the parent.

Prerequisites

For information about the levels at which you can perform this procedure, and the modules, handlers, and permissions that are required to perform this procedure, see Delegation Feature Requirements (IIS 7).

Exceptions to feature requirements

  • None

To configure default delegation settings for a site or an application

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane:

  - If you want to delegate features of all applications in a site, use the tools in the **Connections** pane to connect to the site that contains the applications. Then click the site in the tree.
