Remove an IIS Manager User Account (IIS 7)

Remove an IIS Manager user account when you want to permanently remove the account from IIS Manager, such as when the account is no longer required for administering sites or applications.

Note

When you want to restrict an IIS Manager user account temporarily, consider disabling the account instead of removing it. For more information about disabling IIS Manager user accounts, see Disable an IIS Manager User Account (IIS 7).

  • None

To remove an IIS Manager user

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane, click the server node.

  3. In Features View, double-click IIS Manager Users.

  4. On the IIS Manager Users page, select the user account that you want to remove.

  5. In the Actions pane, click Remove, and then click Yes.
