Exporting UDDI Data

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) is an industry specification for publishing and locating information about Web services. It defines an information framework that you can use to describe and classify your organization, its services, and the technical details about the interfaces of the Web services that you expose.

The UDDI Data Export Wizard can help you export UDDI information to an XML file by guiding you through the entity selection and data export process. You can use the wizard to export Provider or tModel information. A Provider is a Web service provider. A tModel represents a given categorization scheme. Categorization schemes are an important part of UDDI because they provide a consistent means of describing and discovering Web service information. For example, a geographical categorization scheme makes it possible for publishers to classify their physical location and facilitate queries based on geographical location.
