Field Settings Dialog Box

Looking for help with Power Pivot in Excel 2013? Go to Power Pivot Help on Office.com.

The Field Settings dialog box lets you assign a custom name to a field that you use as a display name in a PivotTable or chart. To access this dialog box, right-click a field in the PowerPivot Field List, and then click Rename. When you create a custom name, it does not change the unique name of the field that was created when the data was loaded into the workbook.

  • Table Name
Displays the name of the table where the field is located.

  • Source Name
Displays the name of the field as it is in the data table.

The names of fields must be unique within a table.

  • Custom Name
Type a name to use for display purposes within the current PivotTable.
