New and Removed Support Tools

Windows Server 2003 Support Tools include new tools that are not available in Windows 2000 Server Support Tools, and tools have been removed from Windows Server 2003 Support Tools that were available in Windows 2000 Server Support Tools.

Installation of Windows Server 2003 SP1 Support Tools

You can install the version of Windows Support Tools that ships with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) by using Suptools.msi only on computers running Windows Server 2003 with SP1. You can install individual tool executable files on computers running Windows Server 2003 with no service pack installed and on computers running Windows XP Professional by copying the executable files to the computers. However, you cannot use Suptools.msi to install the entire tool set on any computer that is not running Windows Server 2003 with SP1.
