Client Security Best Practices Analyzer

Applies To: Forefront Client Security

The Microsoft® Forefront™ Client Security Best Practices Analyzer tool performs diagnostic tests on your Client Security servers.

You can use the Client Security Server Best Practices Analyzer tool to troubleshoot current problems and to verify that the configuration of your Client Security servers are set according to the recommended best practices.

The Client Security Server Best Practices Analyzer tool does not change anything in your configuration, and it does not automatically send information about your configuration and settings to anyone.

It is recommended that you scan all of the servers that comprise your Client Security topology. When you scan a computer, all the checks run on that computer.

To install and run the Client Security Best Practice Analyzer tool

  1. Download and install the tool from the Microsoft Download Center (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=98401) onto the computer that you want to scan.

  2. In the End User License Agreement box, select the I accept the terms in the license agreement check box, and then click OK.

  3. Open the BPA folder (by default, \Program Files\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\BPA), and then double-click FCSBPA.exe.

Using the tool, you can scan the local computer, schedule scans, and view reports on the results of scans.
