Create a Schedule

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is required to complete this procedure.

To create a schedule

  1. Open Windows System Resource Manager.

  2. In the navigation tree, expand Calendar, right-click Schedules, and then click New Schedule.

  3. In Schedule Name, type a name for the schedule.

A schedule name cannot start with a hyphen (-) and cannot contain spaces or the following characters: , \ / * ; ? : " | - < or >

  1. On the calendar display, double-click a time in the column to add a schedule item.

  2. In Policy name, select a resource allocation policy.

  3. In Start Time, select a time for the resource allocation policy to take effect.

  4. In End Time, select a time for the resource allocation policy to end.

  5. Repeat the procedure to add additional resource allocation policies to the schedule as necessary, and then click OK.

Additional considerations

  • To open Windows System Resource Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Windows System Resource Manager. In the Connect to Computer dialog box, select This computer, and then click Connect. Microsoft Management Console will start with the Windows System Resource Manager (Local) snap-in open.

  • You cannot assign more than one resource allocation policy to the same time period in a schedule.

  • When you create or modify calendar events or schedules, the time values that you specify will be expressed in the local time of the server. All time values that are displayed in the Windows System Resource Manager interface or saved to an XML file will also be expressed in the local time of the server.
