Configuring Objects

Applies To: Opalis 6.3

The following configuration instructions are applicable to all of the objects in a Policy.

Object Properties

Each object has a set of required and/or optional properties that define the configuration of that object, including how it connects to other objects or how the object performs its actions. You can view or modify object properties when the object is placed in the active Policy.

To configure the properties for an object

  1. Double-click the object. Alternatively, you can right-click the object and select Properties.

  2. To view the online help for that object, click the Help button on the Properties dialog.

  3. In some fields, you can open a pop-up window and type in the window instead of in the field. This can make it easier for you to type the information, especially if you are typing more characters than the field allows you to see. Right-click the field and select Expand. When you have finished typing in the pop-up window, click OK to return to the Properties dialog.

  4. To save your configuration entries, click Finish.

In the object properties dialog there are several tabs along the left side. These tabs provide access to general and specific settings for the object. For information about the settings on these tabs, see Common Tabs.
