Loyalty schemes (form)

Click Retail > Common > Loyalty > Loyalty schemes. On the Loyalty schemes list page, on the Action Pane, click Loyalty scheme to create a new loyalty scheme, or double-click an existing loyalty scheme in the list to open it.

Use this form to set up loyalty schemes. Loyalty schemes specify how loyalty points are calculated and managed. After you configure a loyalty scheme, you can assign the loyalty scheme to loyalty cards.

Set up loyalty schemes

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Loyalty scheme 
(Action Pane)

Modify the details for the loyalty scheme, or view loyalty card transactions, loyalty cards, or customers who are assigned to the loyalty scheme.

Loyalty scheme 
(FastTab)

View or modify the scheme’s name, description, and calculation settings. You can select whether the default multiplier for the scheme is an amount or a quantity. You can also customize the multiplier for any item in the scheme.

Lines 
(FastTab)

Add or view the line items that are included in the loyalty scheme. Click Add line to add a single product or tender to the scheme. Click Add products to open the Add products form, where you can add one or more products to the scheme.

Delete an existing loyalty scheme.

Add products

Open the Add products form, where you can select the products that qualify for loyalty points and link those products to the loyalty scheme. You can filter the product list by category, and then select one or more products from the category to add them to the scheme.

After you add the products, you must specify the loyalty points that can be collected for those products.

Loyalty card transactions

Open the Loyalty point transactions form, where you can view the transactions for the scheme.

Loyalty cards

Open the Loyalty cards form, where you can view a list of loyalty cards and the loyalty customers who are assigned to the loyalty cards. You can also view any transactions that have occurred for each loyalty card.

Loyalty customer

Open the Loyalty customer form, where you can view the details and transactions for a loyalty customer who is associated with the scheme.

Fields

Description

Scheme ID

The unique identifier of the scheme.

Description

A simple description of the scheme.

Expiration time value

An integer that specifies how many days, months, or years are added to the issue date of the loyalty points to define the expiration date.

Expiration time unit

The unit of measure that is used for the Expiration time value field. Values include days, months, and years.

Point status

The total points that are available for the whole scheme.

Issued points

The total points that have been issued for the selected scheme.

Used points

The total points that have been used for the selected scheme.

Expired points

The total points that have expired for the selected scheme.

Default multiplier type

Select the method that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line items in the scheme. By default, the method applies to line items, but you can modify the method at the line level. Select from the following options:

  • Amounts – Loyalty points are calculated based on the total value of sales for a transaction.

  • Quantity – Loyalty points are calculated based on the number of units or the quantity that was sold for an item.

Type

Select the type of line that is used to create a points rule for a product or a tender. You can create a rule that awards points when a specific tender is used, such as cash. In the case of a payment, you can create a rule that subtracts points when a customer uses a loyalty card to make a purchase.

Payment method

If you select Tender in the Type field, select the payment method that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line item.

Category

If you select Product in the Type field, select the retail category that the product that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line item is assigned to.

Product

If you select Product in the Type field, select the product that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line item.

Product variant

If you select Product in the Type field, select the retail product variant that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line item.

Start date

The first date that the rule is valid.

End date

The last date that the rule is valid.

Quantity/amount

The quantity or amount of the line item that qualifies for loyalty points. The loyalty points are defined in the Loyalty points column.

Multiplier type

Select the method that is used to calculate loyalty points for the line items in the scheme. By default, the method that is selected in the Default multiplier type field displays in this field.

Select from the following options:

  • Amounts – Loyalty points are calculated based on the total value of sales for a transaction.

  • Quantity – Loyalty points are calculated based on the number of units or the quantity that was sold for an item.

Loyalty points

The loyalty points that are being awarded or subtracted.
