Recovering data

To protect data, Data Protection Manager (DPM) creates replicas and shadow copies of the data selected for protection. You can recover the data, by selecting a previous version of the data from a shadow copy stored on the DPM server and then restore the data to its point of origin or to another specified destination. Shadow copies use the same folder and file structure as the data source, making it easy for you to browse to the data that you want to recover.

In the Recovery task area, you can browse or search for recoverable data, recover data, create manual shadow copies, and enable end-user recovery.
