Role-based templates for My Sites are custom templates designed for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. The role-based templates enhance My Sites by tailoring them to satisfy the unique needs and requirements of specific roles within an organization. The templates extend the standard My Site functionality by providing a personal portal site and dashboard area with data relevant to a particular job role and displaying information in a way that is familiar, easy, and built around the way people in the company work. Currently, there are seven role-based My Site templates available.

  • My Site template for Controllers-Financial Analysts   Helps controllers to automate the process of analyzing financial data and information, which can help their overall decision-making process. The template assists in tracking top performing products and opportunities at different geographic levels. It also provides a graphical view of product sales and revenue.

  • My Site template for Sales Account Managers   Helps managers streamline the process of analyzing sales and opportunity information for their overall decision making. The template assists in tracking customer accounts against a set of performance metrics, such as quarterly revenue, growth, and opportunity. It also provides a graphical view of the geographical distribution of product sales and opportunities.

  • My Site template for Marketing Managers   Helps streamline the process of managing lead inquiries and conversions.   • My Site template for Administrative Assistants   Displays a calendar for organization highlights, such as award functions and meetings, so administrative assistants have activity information at their fingertips.   • My Site template for Human Resources Managers   Helps keep track of employee composition and distribution within the organization. During the performance review cycle, the template provides information about the status of performance reviews and helps managers quickly identify issues. To enhance employee engagement, the template displays various activities that are conducted on a monthly basis. It also displays details about training under various categories, displays information about attrition rates at the organization and business-unit level, and shows job opening details and employee referrals along with interview schedules for hiring.
