Outlook Web Access Light Opens When a User Logs On to Exchange 2007 Outlook Web Access

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

This topic explains how to change the accessibility option in Outlook Web Access so that it does not open as Outlook Web Access Light when a user logs on to Exchange Server 2007 Outlook Web Access. Outlook Web Access Light is optimized for users who have accessibility issues, such as users who are blind or who have low vision. Outlook Web Access Light provides fewer features than Outlook Web Access Premium and is sometimes faster.

If the accessibility option is enabled in Outlook Web Access, Outlook Web Access opens as Outlook Web Access Light every time that a user logs on. To change this behavior, disable Use the blind and low vision experience on the Options page in Outlook Web Access.

To disable the Use the blind and low vision experience option

  1. Log on to Outlook Web Access.

  2. Click Options.

  3. In the Options pane, click General Settings.

  4. In the Accessibility area, click to clear the Use the blind and low vision experience check box, and then click Save.

  5. Log off Outlook Web Access, and then log on again.
