Microsoft offers six editions of Office 2010, which lets you choose the best Office suite to deploy in your environment. These include the following editions:

  • Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010

  • Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010

  • Microsoft Office Standard 2010

  • Microsoft Office Professional 2010

  • Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

  • Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010

Microsoft requires activation of all editions of Microsoft Office 2010. This includes those obtained through a Volume Licensing program. Only the volume-licensed version enables organizations to host browser-based versions of the software.
