Customization Options for Specific Audiences
During installation of Internet Explorer Administration Kit 10 (IEAK 10), you are asked to pick a role or version, based on your license agreement. This version determines what options are available for you to customize for your Internet Explorer® 10 package, the steps you need to take to fully deploy that package, and how you can manage the browser after deployment. The versions available are External and Internal.
External. Choose this version if you want to create a customized version of Internet Explorer to distribute outside of a corporate environment. The following scenarios should use the External license for IEAK 10:
Internet Content Provider (ICP). If you are an ICP or an independent software vendor (ISV), and you want to create a customized version of Internet Explorer for customers who already have Internet accounts.
Creating a basic version of Internet Explorer. Users of the former Covermount program can use the External version of IEAK 10 to create and distribute a version of Internet Explorer 10.
Internal. Choose this version if you are an administrator, and you want to create a customized version of Internet Explorer for your users.
