Identifying Computers Managed by Windows Intune Running Another Endpoint Protection Application

Windows Intune Endpoint Protection contacts the Windows Security Center (in Windows XP) or Windows Action Center (in Windows Vista® and Windows® 7) to check whether another endpoint application is installed. By default, if another endpoint application is installed and Windows Intune Endpoint Protection detects the application, Windows Intune Endpoint Protection automatically disables itself.
Even when Windows Intune Endpoint Protection is not enabled, the Windows Intune administrator console displays a list of computers that are running another endpoint protection application. You can use the following procedure to identify which computers are running another endpoint protection application.
To identify which computers are running other endpoint protection applications
Open the Windows Intune administrator console.
In the workspace shortcuts pane, click the Endpoint Protection icon.
In the navigation pane, click Overview if it is not already selected.
The Endpoint Protection Overview page appears and displays issues sorted by severity, starting with Critical issues. The issues are displayed as links.
Under Computer Status, click Devices with another endpoint protection application running. A list of relevant computers appears. Details about the selected device are shown in the preview pane.
Note If client computers in your environment are running another endpoint protection application, we recommend that you run either Windows Intune Endpoint Protection or your existing endpoint protection application, but not both.
