Resource types

Cluster resources are categorized by type. The Windows Server 2003 family defines several types of resources and provides resource dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) to manage the types. Developers are encouraged to create new types to fit the specific needs of their cluster-aware applications and services. By creating a new resource type, developers can have more control over how the Cluster service manages their application or service.

For more information on the resource types provided with the operating system, see Standard Resource Types.
