Description

The SECURITY key contains security information used by the system and network.

The information in the SECURITY key is not viewable by users of Windows 2000 Professional, and should not be edited directly in Windows 2000 Server. All the data in this key is in binary form.

Change method

To change the information held in this key, use the tools designed for Group Policy, Security Policy, Active Directory, and other tools designed for managing computers and users.

Caution Image Caution

Do not alter or add entries in the SECURITY key. Doing so could prevent users from logging on to the domain or their computers, and it could require you to restore your entire system.
