Customized wall paper by Group Policy not showing after deployment

Symptoms

When deploying Windows 7in an Active Directory environment, and you configure a group policy to customize the desktop wall paper, you will find the customized wall paper will not appear, and a blank desktop will be there instead.

Cause

This is a known issue. The desktop wall paper registry is missing from your Windows 7 deployment image. The registry key in question is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper.

Resolution

You can modify your Windows 7 deployment image and create the wall paper registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper) or deploy it with group policy.
