Configuring Rights Policy Templates

Updated: October 22, 2009

Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1

You can create rights policy templates by using Windows PowerShell cmdlets to add items to the \RightsPolicyTemplate container in the Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) administration namespace in Windows PowerShell. You then configure the templates by setting properties on these items and delete existing templates by removing them from the \RightsPolicyTemplate container. The items in this container are logical representations of the actual templates, which are stored in the configuration database and in an optional shared folder for distribution.
