Create a role assignment within a scope

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To create a role assignment within a scope

  1. Open Authorization Manager.

  2. In the console tree, right-click Role Assignments, and then click Assign Role.

    Where?

    • Authorization Manager/Authorization store/Application/Scope/Role Assignments
  3. In the Add Role dialog box, select the check boxes next to the role definitions that you want add.

Notes

  • To open Authorization Manager, click Start, click Run, and then type: azman.msc

  • If you have not defined roles, the Add Role dialog box will be empty.

  • To perform this procedure, you need to use an authorization store that contains an application, and the application must contain a scope. For more information, see Related Topics.
