Using the PerformancePoint Planning Command Utility

The Planning Command Utility (PPSCmd.exe) is a tool that assists in the administration and limited modification of the Planning Server. The tool consists of 12 commands that allow for scriptable actions with Planning Server.

Command Description

Delete: Planning Command Utility operation

Delete an application, model, roles, or dimension from a Planning system.

Exportdimension: Planning Command Utility operation

Export specified dimensions and hierarchies to a CSV file.

Help: Planning Command Utility operation

Display the Help option.

Importdimension: Planning Command Utility operation

Import dimension members to an application dimension or hierarchy by using a CSV file.

Importsecurity: Planning Command Utility operation

Import security role and user definitions to an application where users and roles are defined in a CSV file.

Migrate: Planning Command Utility operation

Migrate a Planning application from a source server to a destination server.

Modelsitedeploy: Planning Command Utility operation

Deploy a model site and provide for a command to force a full redeployment of the model site.

New: Planning Command Utility operation

Create metadata structures for applications, dimensions, models, and hierarchies.

Reprocess: Planning Command Utility operation

Reprocess model data in the Analysis Services cube.

Run: Planning Command Utility operation

Execute a sequence of Planning Command Utility commands defined in a file. The commands are executed in the order they are described.

Stagingdb: Planning Command Utility operation

Synchronize and load data between a staging database and an application database. Details of using a staging database can be found in Data integration process.

Upgrade: Planning Command Utility operation

Upgrade a Planning application created in an earlier CTP release to be compatible with the current release of Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007.
