Silent command-line installation of PerformancePoint Server 2007 SP3
Updated: 2009-10-15
Command-line mode and silent mode
Both command-line mode and silent installation mode for Microsoft Office PerformancePoint ServerĀ 2007 with Service Pack 3 (SP3) have been updated. This article describes the updates. The UPGRADE_LOG_LOCATION parameter is required for the application databases update process. If the SQL_DATABASE_SERVER parameter is specified, then the update executes the update of the system databases. For example:
PPLServerConfigManager.exe /qn mode=upgrade feature=database,webservice SQL_DATABASE_SERVER=localhost UPGRADE_LOG_LOCATION=C:\
Upgrade mode
This mode allows PPSPlanningSystem, PPSPlanningService, and all application databases to be upgraded to SP3 by means of a command prompt. Mode=Upgrade
.
New supporting parameter
The existing parameter is used for the SQL Server location: SQL_DATABASE_SERVER = <computername\instance>. New option include: UPGRADE_LOG_LOCATION = <file directory location>.
Important
In a multi-server configuration, run the PPLServerConfigManager.exe command to upgrade the PPSPlanningSystem database, PPSPlanningService database, and any application databases on the computer where the PerformancePoint Planning Server Web service is installed.
