!Special Administration Console (!SAC) and !SAC commands

!Special Administration Console (!SAC) and !SAC commands

You can use !Special Administration Console (!SAC) to perform remote management tasks if the Windows Server 2003 operating system stops functioning due to a Stop error message.

The main functions of !SAC are as follows:

  • Redirect Stop error message explanatory text.

  • Restart the system.

  • Obtain computer identification information.

When !SAC becomes available, the following prompt appears:

!SAC>

!SAC includes a subset of SAC commands, which are listed in the following table:

Command Description

restart

Restarts the server immediately.

D

Displays all log entries (screen pauses at each page of information).

Id

Displays computer identification.

Q

Quits !SAC and resumes normal out-of-band port operation.

? or Help

Lists available commands.
