Description

Specifies how many stack locations the Server service establishes for I/O Request Packets (IRPs).

It might be necessary to increase this number for certain transports, or if you have many file system drivers installed on the system. Each stack uses 36 bytes of memory for each receive buffer (also known as a work item).

This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.

Note

  • Some older applications may incorrectly set the value of this entry to a value that is outside (below) the valid range. By deleting the invalid value, you can restore this entry to its default value. You can also set the value yourself.
