When used for local COM+ administration, no Windows Firewall configuration is required to use this remote administration tool.

When used for remote COM+ administration, the following changes must be made:

To see a list of all COM+ applications on a remote computer, add TCP port 135 and Dllhost.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list on the remote computer being administered.

To see Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) statistics of a remote computer, add Msdtc.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list on the remote computer being administered.

To see running processes on a remote computer, add TCP port 135 and Dllhost.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list on the remote computer being administered. Add TCP port 135 and Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to the Windows Firewall exceptions list on the local computer.
