Net requirements (form)

Click Master planning > Inquiries > Coverage > Actions. Click Inquiries > Net requirements. Use this form to view the net requirements that are calculated for the product dimension combination or order line during master scheduling.

The form displays the following information:

  • The upper Overview grid displays information about the product dimensions and about the current coverage settings that apply during master scheduling.

  • The lower Overview grid displays each requirement that is calculated and the resulting projected inventory levels. Action and futures message information is also displayed. When you select a requirement in the grid, you can expand the Pegging grid below and display the corresponding issue or receipt that offsets the requirement.

You can access and view this form from various locations:

  • After you run forecast scheduling, you can access a gross requirements profile from the planned orders.

  • After you run master scheduling, you can access a net requirements profile from the planned orders. You can also access a net requirements profile from the planned orders that are created for a particular module.

  • You can view the requirements that are calculated for a particular item.

  • You can view the requirements that are calculated from a sales order.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Overview tab

View general information about the item.

Setup tab

View the item coverage settings that are used to calculate the requirement.

Total

View a breakdown of the requirements, both actual and planned, according to transaction type.

Lower pane

Overview tab

View the planned inventory transactions and the resulting projected inventory levels for the item within the defined coverage time fence. If the line carries an action message or a futures date, these are indicated by an arrow in the appropriate field.

Expand the Pegging section to track the selected transaction. The pegging line shows either the source of the requirement or the transaction that fulfills the requirement.

General tab

View detailed information about the selected line.

Action

View detailed information about the action message.

Futures

View detailed information about the futures date.

Period

View the scheduled transactions and requirements that are sorted based on a period template. You must first create and set up the period template in the Period templates form.

Description

Item coverage

Open the Item coverage to view the current coverage settings that were used to calculate the selected item requirement. This button is located only on the Setup tab.

Update

Open the Forecast scheduling or Master scheduling dialog box to update item requirements.

Inquiries

Open a menu with the following items:

  • Derived requirements - View the item component requirements for a BOM.

  • Explosion - View all related levels of requirements. These could be both lower-level item requirements and the source-level requirements.

  • Route - View the operations that have been set up for the route that is attached to the planned production order.

  • Jobs - View a list of the individual jobs that are associated with the planned production order.

  • Capacity reservations - View reserved capacity for the selected planned production order.

Sorting

To change the date field on the Overview tab, select one of the following options:

  • Requirement date

  • Action date

  • Futures date

Plans

Open the Plans form to select a plan to view. If you select a master plan, the Requirement profile form displays net requirements. If you select a forecast plan, the Requirement profile form displays gross requirements.

Supply forecast

The calculated requirement quantity.

Demand forecast

The calculated requirement quantity.

Purchase

The calculated requirement quantity.

Production

The calculated requirement quantity.

Kanban

The calculated requirement quantity.

Inventory

The calculated requirement quantity.

Sales orders

The calculated requirement quantity.

Production BOM

The calculated requirement quantity.

Derived requirements

The calculated requirement quantity.

Planned purchase orders

The calculated requirement quantity.

Planned production orders

The calculated requirement quantity.

Planned transfer

The calculated requirement quantity.

Reference

The transaction order type.

Number

The transaction order number.

Requirement date

The requirement date. This is the delivery date for a sales order, the planned ending date for a production order, the forecast date for a forecast line, and so on, adjusted by any safety margin.

Req. quantity

The total requirement quantity stated in the inventory unit.

Item number

The item number.

Dimension No.

The inventory dimension number for the item.

Supply forecast

Indicates whether the planned order was generated due to a purchase forecast.

Requested date

The original requested delivery date.

Requirement time

The time that the item is required.

Coverage planned

The quantity that is covered by the line.

Coverage status

The status of the covered quantity.

Suborder

Indicates whether the planned order is directly derived from a BOM line.

BOM number

The identification of the BOM.

Line type

The type of BOM line.

Oper. No.

The operation number where the item is consumed.

Level

The level of the component in the BOM structure.

Route number

The route version for the planned production order.

Action

The suggested action to carry out for the item.

Action days

The number of days, positive or negative, that the transaction date is advanced or postponed based on the action message.

Qty. change

The quantity of the item by which the transaction should be increased or decreased based on the action message.

Period description

A description of the selected period. The description includes the time period and the name of the time period.

From date

The starting date of the period.

To date

The ending date of the period.

Receipt

The item quantity that is scheduled to be received during the period.

Accumulated

The total scheduled item receipt quantity that has accumulated up to and including the selected period.

Issue

The item quantity that is scheduled to be issued during the period.

Accumulated

The total scheduled item issue quantity that has accumulated up to and including the selected period.

Delta

The sum of the scheduled receipts and issues for the selected time period.

Projected available inventory

The projected available inventory of the item on the ending date of the selected period.
