Uninstalling SharePoint Administration Toolkit (Office SharePoint Server)

To uninstall version 1.0 of the SharePoint Administration Toolkit

  1. Navigate to %COMMONPROGRAMFILES\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\Bin.

  2. Execute the following command: stsadm.exe -o uninstallfeature-name BatchSiteManagerLinks.

  3. Uninstall the Microsoft SharePoint Administration Toolkit from Add or Remove Programs (Windows Server 2003) or Programs and Features (Windows Server 2008) in Control Panel.

Note

The file ESCM.resx must be manually removed from your machine. This file is located at %SystemDrive%\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories%Central Admin Web Application Folder%\App_GlobalResources\ESCM.resx. Reinstallation will not replace the old file.

To uninstall version 2.0 or 3.0 of the SharePoint Administration Toolkit

  1. From Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features, click Change to remove the SharePoint Administration Toolkit.

    Note

    The same dialog box is displayed if you run the MicrosoftSharepointAdministrationToolkit.exe file instead of using Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features.

  2. If you plan to remove the Batch Site Manager tool, you will receive the following message: "This will only remove related files from this machine. Do you want to remove the Batch Site Manager link from Central Administration as well?" If you choose No, the Batch Site Manager tool still available should you have it installed on another computer. However, if you choose Yes, the Batch Site Manager files are completely removed from the farm.

  3. Click Finish.

To uninstall version 4.0 of the SharePoint Administration Toolkit

  1. From Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features, click Change to remove the SharePoint Administration Toolkit.

    Note

    The same dialog box is displayed if you run the MicrosoftSharepointAdministrationToolkit.exe file instead of using Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features.

  2. Select the features you want to remove. If you select the top-level feature, all features will be removed.

  3. Click Finish.

  4. If you plan to remove the Batch Site Manager or the Permission Reporting Tool features, use the following procedure.

    1. Run stsadm.exe –o deactivatefeature –name to deactivate the feature, specifying either PermissionReporting or BatchSiteManagerLinks.

    2. Run stsadm.exe –o retractsolution –name <filename.wsp> -immediate to retract solution, where <filename.wsp> is either PermissionReporting.wsp or BatchSiteManager.wsp.

    3. Run stsadm.exe –o deletesolution –name <filename.wsp> to delete the solution file from the farm solution store, where <filename.wsp> is either PermissionReporting.wsp or BatchSiteManager.wsp.
