Extend a PerformancePoint KPI

Applies to: SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise

In PerformancePoint Services in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, a key performance indicator (KPI) is a scorecard element that shows at a glance whether performance is on- or off-target for a particular metric. KPIs can vary greatly in their appearance and complexity. After you and other dashboard authors have created basic KPIs by using PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, you can then extend those KPIs by adding more complex functionality. For example, you can configure a KPI to use multiple actual or target values, calculated metrics, and filters.

The articles in this section contain information about how to additionally configure KPIs. For information about how to create KPIs, see Create and configure a KPI by using Dashboard Designer.
