Opportunities (form)

Click Sales and marketing > Common > Opportunities > All opportunities. On the All opportunities list page, open or create an opportunity.

Use this form to create, modify, view, and delete opportunity records.

Create, copy, or delete an opportunity

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Create, update, or copy an opportunity. Update the status or qualifying process of an opportunity.

View or update general information about the selected opportunity.

View or create a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis for the selected opportunity.

Associations

View, add, or update records that are associated with the selected opportunity. For example, if your organization is in the process of completing a project and a new opportunity is acquired through that project, you can associate the opportunity with that project.

Administration

View information about when the opportunity was opened and closed, the worker that opened and closed the opportunity, and the reason that the opportunity was closed.

Change stage

Move the selected opportunity to the next stage in the sales process.

Contacts

View the contact records that are associated with the selected opportunity.

Prospect

View the prospect records that are associated with the selected opportunity.

Customer

View the customer records that are associated with the selected opportunity.

Attachments

View documents or notes that are attached to the selected opportunity.

Responsibilities

View or select the worker that is responsible for working with the selected opportunity.

Collaboration workspace

Create a new collaboration workspace for the selected opportunity or link the opportunity to an existing collaboration workspace.

Customer

Generate a new customer record from the selected opportunity.

Lead

Generate a new lead record from the selected opportunity.

Transaction log

View the transaction log for the selected opportunity.

Quotations

View all sales quotations that are associated with the opportunity.

Activities

View or create activities for the selected opportunity.

Select the action to perform for an address record.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, select from the following options:

  • Remove – Mark the selected address record as inactive.

    You can delete all inactivated addresses by running a batch job in the Delete inactivated addresses form.

  • Set defaults – Select the default address.

  • Advanced – Open the Manage addresses form.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, select from the following options:

  • Remove – Delete the selected address record from the list.

  • Deactivate – Set the status of the selected address record to inactive. The address record is not deleted.

  • Advanced – Open the Manage addresses form.

Select the action to perform for a contact information record.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, select from the following options:

  • Remove – Delete the selected contact information record.

  • Set defaults – Select the default contact information record.

  • Advanced – Open the Edit contact information form.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, select from the following options:

  • Remove – Delete the selected address record from the list.

  • Deactivate – Set the status of the selected address record to inactive. The address record is not deleted.

  • Advanced – Open the Edit contact information form.

Opportunity ID

The unique identification assigned to the selected opportunity.

Subject

View or enter the subject or interest of the opportunity.

Name

View or enter the name of the opportunity.

Status

View or select the current status of the opportunity.

Owner

View or select the worker who is responsible for the opportunity.

Prognosis

View or select the prognosis or length of time estimated for the opportunity to become a sale

Probability

View or select the percentage of probability that the opportunity will become a customer.

Sales unit

View or select the sales unit or team that is assigned to the opportunity.

Sales process

View or select the sales process for the opportunity.

Estimated revenue

View or enter the estimated revenue your organization will earn if you win the opportunity and the opportunity becomes a customer.

Source type

View or select how the opportunity was acquired.

Source ID

View or select the identification of the source of the opportunity.

Internal URL

View or enter the URL of the collaboration workspace that is internal to your organization.

External URL

View or enter the URL of the collaboration workspace that is external to your organization.

Name

View or enter the name of the opportunity contact.

Contact for:

The organization that the contact is the contact for.

Telephone

The telephone number of the contact’s organization.

Address

View the formatted information for the selected address. This is the address that will appear on a printed document. The original address record may contain information that is not included in this view, depending on the specific country/region format.

Purpose

View the purpose of the selected address. For example, the address may be used for deliveries only, or for deliveries and services.

Primary

View whether the address is primary. A primary address is the principal postal address for the selected party. A primary address can also be the default address for the party.

Private

View whether the address is private. If the address is marked as private, you must be assigned to the appropriate role to view the address.

Type

View or select the communication method type.

Contact number/address

View or enter the contact information number or address. For example, a mobile telephone number or an e-mail address.

Primary

If this check box is selected, the contact information is primary. Primary contact information is the principal form of communication for the selected party. To select or clear this check box, click More options and then select Advanced.

Winner

Select this check box to indicate that the competitor won the opportunity.

Competitor

View or select the name of the competitor that won the opportunity.

Product

View or enter the product for sale.

Type

View or select the SWOT type for analysis.

Type

View or select the record type to associate with the opportunity.

ID

The unique identification of the associated record.

Description

A brief description of the associated record.

Opened by

View or select the identification of the worker who created the opportunity.

Date opened

View or select the date that the opportunity was created.

Closed by

View or select the identification of the worker who closed the opportunity.

Date closed

View or enter the date that the opportunity was closed.

Days open

View or enter the number of days that the opportunity was open.

Reason

View or select the reason that the opportunity was closed.
