I-9 document (form)

Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. Select a worker. On the Action Pane, click Worker tab > Related information group > Employment > I-9.
Use this form to enter Form I-9 work eligibility information for a worker.

Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Work eligibility |
Specify citizenship information for the worker that can be used to determine work eligibility. |
I-9 document |
Enter or view information about documents that are used to verify eligibility to work. |
Preparer |
Enter or view information about a person who helped the worker fill out the Form I-9. For example, a translator might be a person who helped the worker to complete the form. Note Be sure to enter address information for the preparer on this tab. |

Verify |
Open the I-9 document verification form, where you can select the Microsoft Dynamics AX user who verified the accuracy of the I-9 information and the date when it was verified. Note After you verify a Form I-9 document, you cannot update the document without resetting the record information. |
Reset |
Reset information in the form. When you reset the form, information in the Status, Prepared, Verified, and Verified by user fields is reset. Furthermore, when you reset the information in the form, you can modify the document type, the document number, and the expire date again. You can also reprint the document, if necessary. |

I-9 document |
The identification number for the Form I-9 document. Form I-9 document IDs are numbered according to the number series assigned to the I-9 document reference, which is set up in the Number sequence area in the Human resources shared parameters form. |
Status |
The current status of the Form I-9 document. |
Prepared |
The date when the Form I-9 information was prepared for the worker. This date is automatically added to the document when you click Verify, enter the verification information and then click OK. |
Verified by user |
The worker who verified the Form I-9 document. |
Verified |
The date when the Form I-9 document was verified. |
Work eligibility options |
Select one of the following options to indicate the worker’s eligibility for employment.

Alien/Admission no. |
Select the official alien or admission number of the worker. |
Authorized until |
The date until which the worker is eligible to work. |
List A |
Select this option to enter information about a List A document. |
I-9 document type |
Select the type of I-9 document provided by the worker for verification. Note The information in this field is maintained in the following form: Form I-9 document types (form). |
Name |
The description of the identification type specified for the I-9 document type that you selected in the I-9 document type field. |
Issuing agency |
The agency that issued the I-9 document type that you selected in the I-9 document type field. |
Document number |
Select the official document number for the I-9 document type selected. |
Expire |
The expiration date of the document number that you selected in the Document number field. |
List B and List C |
Select this option to enter information about a List B and a List C document. |
Preparer |
Enter the name of the person who helped the worker complete the Form I-9 document. |
