If you are using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, this form is available only if the Project Management and Accounting Add-in is installed.

Click Project management and accounting > Inquiries > Resource scheduling > Resource assignments.

In versions prior to cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. Select or open a project. On the Action Pane, on the Plan tab, in the Activities group, click Assign resources. On the Resources FastTab, select a worker, and then click Assignment details.

Note

When you open the Resource assignments form from the Assign resources form, you can only view details of the selected worker’s current assignments, and not a list of all worker assignments.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or cumulative update 7 or later for AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. Select or open a project. On the Action Pane, on the Control tab, in the Utilization group, click Resource utilization, and then click Resource assignments.

Use this form to view a list of workers who are assigned to a project or an activity. You can display worker assignments for a specified time period, for a project, for a specific worker, or for a booking type

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Start date

Select the beginning date from which you want to see worker assignments.

End date

Select the ending date to which you want to see worker assignments.

Project ID

Select the project for which you want to view worker assignments.

Worker

Select the worker whose assignments you want to view.

Booking type

Select one of the following types of booking for a project that you want to view:

  • Hard – The worker is firmly booked to the selected project.

  • Soft – The worker is tentatively booked to the selected project.

Scheduling details

This control is available only in versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 prior to cumulative update 7 for AX 2012 R2.

Open the Schedule resources form. You can use this form to schedule workers for a project or an activity.

Search

Conduct a search for workers who are currently assigned to projects according to the criteria that you specify.

Fields

Field

Description

Worker ID

The identification number of the worker.

Worker name

The name of the worker.

Worker legal entity

The legal entity that employs the worker.

Date

The date that the worker assignment is scheduled to start.

Booking type

The type of booking that is required for the worker assignment. The following values are available:

  • Hard – A firmly scheduled booking.

  • Soft – A tentatively scheduled booking.

Hours

The number of hours that are represented by the assignment line.

Project ID

The identification number of the project for which the worker is scheduled.

Project quotation ID

The identifier of the project quotation that is associated with the assignment line.

If this field is blank, the assignment line is not associated with a project quotation.

Project/Project quotation name

The name of the project quotation that is associated with the assignment line.

If this field is blank, the assignment line is not associated with a project quotation.

Activity number

The identification number of the project activity.

Activity name

The name of the project activity.

Project manager

The name of the project manager who is in charge of the project.

Project/Project quotation legal entity

The name of the legal entity that owns the project.
