Double-byte Character Sets (DBCS) Are Entered Through Remote SMS 2003 Administrator Consoles

Double-byte characters are truncated when they are stored in the SMS site database if they are entered through a remote Japanese SMS Administrator console to a site that uses an ICP. This affects policy information about management points and distribution points. For example, it might create erroneous policy information about the management point.

WORKAROUND:   Do not enter double-byte characters through a remote Japanese SMS Administrator console to a site that is using an ICP. Enter only ANSI characters in the SMS Administrator console on the site server that uses an ICP.
