Cancel pending operations in the work queue

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To cancel pending operations in the work queue

  1. Open Removable Storage.

  2. On the View menu, click Full, and in the console tree, click Work Queue.

  3. In the details pane, right-click the applicable item in the work queue, and then click Cancel Request.

Notes

  • To complete this procedure, you need the appropriate administrative credentials for the affected Removable Storage item. To maintain system security, rather than logging in as an administrator, log in as a user without administrative credentials, and run Removable Storage as an administrator by right-clicking the Computer Management icon, clicking Run As, and choosing an account in the local Administrators group.

  • To open Removable Storage, click Start and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. In the console tree, double-click Storage and then click Removable Storage.

  • You can also delete an item from the work queue by right-clicking the applicable item, and then clicking Delete.

  • You cannot delete work items that are in progress, except for door opening requests.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
