Run a pilot program

For more information, see Run a pilot program in the topic Remote Desktop Services Migration Overview: Post-Migration Tasks.

Retire the source role service servers after migration

After you complete and verify the migration, the source server can be shut down or disconnected from the network.

Restore the RD Gateway settings

In the event of migration failure, you can restore the original settings on the RD Gateway server. To restore the original settings on the RD Gateway server, retrieve the file that you exported during the preparation of the destination server.

To import the original settings to the destination server, see Import and export Remote Desktop Gateway settings in the topic RD Gateway Migration: Migrating the RD Gateway Role Service.

Estimated time to complete rollback

The rollback of the role service should take less than one hour.
