The FSC utility

Applies to: Forefront Security for Exchange Server

The FSC Utility (FSCUtility.exe) is a command line utility with which you can enable or disable Forefront Security for Exchange Server (FSE).

Note

Unlike a reset, when you use FSCUtility.exe, the Forefront services are not removed. Only the dependencies that have been set are removed.

FSCUtility.exe is located in the Forefront Security installation directory. It has the following parameters:

  • FSCUtility /status   Gives an on-screen report showing the status of Forefront Security and the server.

  • FSCUtility /disable   Disables Forefront Security dependencies and the VSAPI hook.

  • FSCUtility /enable   Enables Forefront Security dependencies.

There are other parameters, but they should only be used when you are directed to do so by support technicians.
