Moving SharePoint Workspace users to a new Relay server

Applies to: SharePoint Workspace 2010, Groove Server 2010

Topic Last Modified: 2010-01-18

This article describes how to move users from their currently assigned Relay servers to other Relay servers. For example, you may want to move users from a Relay server that is being decommissioned. The Groove Server Manager administrative interface enables administrators to assign Microsoft SharePoint Workspace users to managed Groove Server Relay systems, and to change these assignments using a relatively simple procedure. Relay server assignments apply to specific management domains. Therefore, all users within the management domain can be assigned to a Relay server at once; you do not need to assign users individually.

This procedure requires that Groove Server Manager is installed as described in Install and configure Groove Server 2010 Manager.

To move managed SharePoint Workspace users to another Relay server

  1. Install Groove Server Relay on a new server, as described in Install and configure Groove Server 2010 Relay

  2. Assign managed Microsoft SharePoint Workspace users to a new Relay server, as described in Assigning Relay servers to SharePoint Workspace users
